What is FIT DOG?

FIT DOG is AKC's newest titling program.  This program is designed to improve and maintain the fitness and health of all dogs and their owners.  The classes are designed to be fun and safe, and utilize positive training techniques.

Classes will be formed based on interest and availability.  In person and virtual options will be considered/offered.

Now more than ever, fitness is important for both dogs and people.  The most commonly recommend exercise to improve fitness is walking.

The American Heart Association recommends walking a minimum of 150 minutes a week.  

150 minutes = 2.5 hours

A little over 35 minutes a day, 7 day week 

Going for a Walk

Participation in the AKC Fit Dog Club and programs will bring health benefits to both you and your dog.
